Still undecided if it's important for you to have your wedding professionally filmed.

Consider this;

The cost for the full day; approx. 2 hour main edit plus a highlights montage  including footage of all that is listed HERE for less than the cost of the majority of the best wedding  photography packages.

I recommend reading through the information on this site and previewing some highlights montages and couples comments.

Once you are converted and would like to check on availability, fill in the inquiry form

Securing a Booking

Fill in and submit the enquiry form

Once you receive a reply from me hopefully confirming availability and if by then  you are satisfied with the amount of info about what is included etc. and from the samples of my work that you are ready to secure a booking,
If you have any requests for additional coverage, that will be discussed next.

 All I require to secure your booking is a non  refundable booking fee of £100 payable via bank transfer;

Once payment has been transferred you will be emailed as receipt of payment.   The balance of the agreed total booking cost would be due 2 weeks before the wedding.

A phone or video call
at this stage could be arranged to discuss things in more detail, otherwise I don't need any details in particular until very close to the wedding. I would be
in touch 2 weeks before the wedding to go over details. That may sound very late on, but unlike a stills photographer who will need a list of preferred shots, I mainly go over details that are better kept to close to the day to keep fresh in mind

On the day of the wedding

The 11 hour coverage will begin when I arrive at the arranged location where the bride to be and her bridal party are getting morning preparations done by no later than 10am and will leave the evening reception at 9pm unless I arrive earlier than 10am and start either filming straight away or setting up equipment, in that case I will leave a bit earlier than 9pm if at least 3 dances have past by then.

Editing and turn around period

I strongly believe that in order to best tell the story of your big day with a connection to having been present throughout, this is why it is important that the videographer is the one who does the editing. There are so many instances and expressions, sounds, knowledge of  certain aspects of the day eg. grandparents etc. that unless present, the editor is unlikely to be aware of the importance of including these instances in the main edit or highlights. For this very important reason I do not outsource any editing regardless how busy I am. Of course due to this the waiting time at peak periods is anywhere between 12 and 16 weeks. Usually up until around May/June it is typically around 6 -8 weeks.

Highlights

My workflow is to do the bulk of the main edit, then from this work on the highlights. As I'm selecting the best footage to use it gives me a chance to go back and forth making small tweaks to the main edit.

Once the highlights are complete, I send a link to preview. If you are completely satisfied as they are with no tweaks to the choice of content requested. I then proceed to complete the main edit.

I ask at this stage if you are happy for me to share your highlights. Being my main marketing tool I rely on being permitted to do this to give me fresh content.

Main Edit

The duration of the main edit can range from around 2 hours plus.
The duration of the ceremony and speeches determine the overall duration. for example a civil registrar ceremony can be a few minutes, but a Catholic church wedding can be very long. Speeches can vary, 3 speakers could be complete in under 15  to 20 minutes or can be as long as an hour.

Recommendation for speeches

At most weddings, speeches are done before the wedding breakfast. This definitely helps the speakers relax and enjoy their meal better, having got the speech out of the way. Some venues will try and get couples to stagger speeches during courses. The problem this can cause is that both  the videographer and photographer will be in the middle of their meal when the next speaker may be announced, resulting if not given enough notice,  missing the opening speech which has happened to me on more than one occasion.

Try and limit the duration of the speeches

through much experience I advise couples to drop a hint to those who will be doing speeches not to include too much in it. 'Not to make it a life story of the bride' and be wary of not elaborating too much from the written speech. Long speeches can lose the audiences attention. You tend to notice it when people start murmuring and chatting during it, this can come across as being very rude and inconsiderate on the video.
